Hey guys, Andrew here. Corey and I are currently working on the big move to Nashville, and post-production is trucking right along with Eli assembling a rough cut as I type this, and Corey and I both meeting with the musicians in charge of assembling our score.

We hope to have a solid cut together by December. Expect plenty of future posts, and myriad on-set pictures to be shared. Stay tuned for more updates.

Son of The Road to "Arriving At Night"

Good evening all,

Among other new developments on the pre-production front, we now have an official Facebook page HERE.

And we've got SCADS of new pictures to post!

Here's visual evidence that we've actually cast people:

Tom Atkins as Phil Redman:

David Lawrence as Jackson Marks:

Chelsey Pippin as Robin, the intern:

And Chad Grooms as the unseen Kurt Olsen - and the Video Game Store Clerk.

And you might think that would be it. Surely, there can be no more pictures up this blog's sleeve!

You would be wrong.

LOCATIONS

That's right - we've got some more tentative location photos. This time we're looking at a potential radio station set:

Not only is that a photo of an exquisite-looking set-up, but look at the date. This picture was taken SUNDAY, and now it's already on the internet. Ladies and gentlemen, I think I like living in the future.

Here are a couple more marvels of modern technology:

Ah, that looks like a cozy place to spend a weekend, doesn't it?

More to come - stay tuned to keep posted on Arriving at Night!

The Road To "Arriving At Night"

Welcome to the official Arriving at Night production blog.

I'm Andrew Ford - co-writer, (executive) producer, and director, and I guess it's considered right proper manners to catch you up to date with our progress on this short film.

For starters, we have an AMAZING cast locked down, with Tom Atkins (Night of the Creeps, Halloween III: Season of the Witch, Lethal Weapon, etc.) as Phil Redman, and David Lawrence (Death Kill 2: Deadly Assault) as Jackson Marks. And those are just the two leads, we've also got Chelsey Pippin and Chad Grooms in roles that are disproportionately small in relation to their talent.

We're currently getting in touch with potential locations in the Pittsburgh area. Our intrepid producer (and co-writer...and all around swell guy, while I'm at it), Corey Schneider, is calling the shots along with associate producer Jabriel Anderson, and this morning we locked a crucial cemetery location. This cemetery, to be precise: http://www.washingtonpacemetery.com/

Here are some additional location snaps courtesy of Mr. Schneider:

How could I get this far without mentioning the remarkable work our Director of Photography, Chad Kean, and myself have put into crafting a magnificent shot list? Chad's working with a crack team of camera specialists including 1st A.C. Kyle Hollar, and 2nd A.C. Ben Volk.

We've secured the services of the fine folk whom comprise the Take 19 audio crew, and have penciled-in Scott Peters as our Executive in Charge of Gaffing (Head Gaffer).

Courtney King is on board as Assistant Director and (the unanswered question of) Eli Osman is editing this production. Mark Adelsberger is our Best Boy, and Erin Malone will provide her services as Script Supervisor.

Ultimately, we've all come together because we believe in this script, and because we believe that this can make a pretty spectacular short film. It's going to be a lot of hard work that will involve blood, sweat, tears, and an unconscionable reliance on the charity of strangers and acquaintances, but at the end of the day we're going to have something we can be proud of. We're going to have a real accomplishment under our belts.

And hopefully, we'll get in before it gets dark.
